The rules and regulations regarding advertising Cannabis, a federally banned drug, are in a state of continuous change because while in some states it is illegal, It is legal in some other states. Even in states where cannabis is 100 percent legal, there are still many strict regulations regarding advertising Cannabis. As states continue to permit medicinal or recreational marijuana use, they are struggling to know about how to regulate the advertising, promotion, and marketing of marijuana products. Although sale and possession of Cannabis are illegal at the federal level, there are 9 states where cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational use. Through this webinar, these state advertising laws will be discussed. The states that are expected to follow these nine states will also be identified. All of these states have their own rules for advertising marijuana. The rest of the states have either passed laws legalizing medical marijuana consumption or marijuana consumption continues to be unlawful, but many states are already starting to develop marijuana advertising regulations. Norma Skolnik has over 35 years of regulatory experience working with the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industries. She served as Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Americas for Cadbury Adams up. Prior to that, she was Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Adams Division of Pfizer and Associate Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Warner-Lambert company. She also served as Director of Regulatory Affairs for Lederle Consumer Healthcare and as Associate Director of Marketed Product Support for Lederle Laboratories and Associate Director of Regulatory Affairs for Wyeth. She currently works as a U.S. regulatory consultant.
